Greg Davis, Minister of Music and Worship:
If I could choose one word to describe what I feel about worship, it would be PASSION, and passion for God and His Son Jesus is what I hope to help instill in the CLC family. I come from a Southern Baptist background, with a Bachelor and Master degrees in church music. My life journey is interesting in that I spent 15 years in show business... a great life, with great experiences. Thank God he led me to this special family to re-affirm my calling to lead the church in worship.
Here at CLC we are Lutheran not only because of what we "do" in worship services, we are Lutheran because of what we believe, and in the great theology of the Lutheran faith, we have the freedom to live out our worship in new and innovative ways.
While overseeing all of the worship offerings in a week, I specifically plan and help execute "Traditions...the ties that bind," our Sunday 8 a.m. worship hour and "Celebrations...blending the old and new for our God of the future," our 9:20 a.m. worship hour. God is so good! Experience the fullness that God has for you in Community Lutheran and the Music Ministry.
Mike Watkins, Minister of Praise:
I consider it a wonderful privilege to serve the Lord through music and praise. After graduating in '97 with a B.A. in music, I have been fortunate enough to earn my living as a professional musician. After working as the music director/composer-in-residence for a children's theatre in the Chicago land area, I joined the Second City National Touring Company. My life on the road lead me all over the country and to some of the far reaches of the earth and eventually to Las Vegas, where I still maintain my position as Music Director for The Second City at the Flamingo Las Vegas.
In addition to my duties with work, I also write songs with my band FAMiC and hope to have the opportunity to share the love and message of Jesus to the world through his music.
Together with my wife, Angelica, and our son, David, I love to travel for missions or pleasure and
hope to live a life that is pleasing to God.
